Poughkeepsie Residents Call on Albany to be Accountable to Community's Priorities

Group Release new research showing contributions to State Senator overwhelmingly from out-of-district and big money donors

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (04/04/2012)-- On Wednesday, residents and community leaders from Community Voices Heard (CVH) in Poughkeepsie gathered outside the Dutchess County Office Building on Market St to demand that their elected officials that represent them in Albany pass a Fair Elections system during this year's legislative session.

At Gov Cuomo's House, We Say "Fund Transitional Jobs!"

This morning, on March 12, 2012, after the daylight savings time change, over 20 members of Community Voices Heard arrived at Governor Cuomo's home in Mount Kisco to wake him up with the message that it is time to fund transitional jobs. CVH leaders attempted to deliver a double sided check for $0 from the "Unpaid Worker Bank" for Gov Cuomo and $25 million for transitional jobs the "What We Want Bank." CVH leaders rang the doorbell at the Governor's front door and hand-delivered a letter requesting a meeting.
