CVH is helping to lead a large-scale mobilization on May 12 to call on Mayor Bloomberg to close tax loopholes for millionaires and make the big banks pay in order to fund the services so many New Yorkers rely on. The Mayor released his budget today (May 6), and groups are joining in the 'virtual rally' today at 1pm to discuss the impacts of the Mayor's proposal. (January 30, 2010) A busload of Community Voices Heard members went up to Albany, NY yesterday to participate in the overnight Capitol Camp-In led by hundreds of low-income people, welfare recipients, people living with HIV/AIDS, students, seniors, and other New Yorkers opposed to Governor Cuomo's austerity budget.
Hello Friends of CVH, I wanted to share with you some quick info from our action yesterday (March 2, 2011), which involved about 150 people at the state Capitol Building and saw 17 leaders and allies arrested for acts of civil disobedience.
