Why are you a CVH member?
I was brought into the group by some of my neighbors that were involved. I appreciated the fact that they wanted to help people in the community and help those who have no voice. I hate injustice, and I always said if I can do something about it, then I will. And CVH allowed me to speak for those who have experienced discrimination and injustice. I liked that I was involved with meetings with elected officials in the community and part of the Participatory Budgeting process for my neighborhood.

What does CVH mean to you?
It's my second family. The worries and concerns I have are the ones CVH has. They understand my struggles and help me fight back. CVH helps the people and is there for the people.

OUR MISSION

Community Voices Heard (CVH) is a Black and brown-led, power-building organization committed to fighting for dignity for people with low incomes and all New Yorkers. Guided by members, we center women’s voices and create unity to win financial security, a fully participatory democracy, and truly affordable homes for every New Yorker. CVH leads community organizing across the state because we will only achieve an equitable New York when we organize and fight together.
